MDA “A Future with Hope”

SSP family members, together with their customers, joined forces to raise a record-breaking $145,659 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, or MDA during the 2006 mobile campaign “A Future with Hope.”  Circle K customers donated a dollar and received a balloon, which they wrote their name on and the store proudly displayed. 

Our team got very creative in their fundraising efforts—from clown-dressing to car washes, and pies-in-the-face to lock-ups and free-throw contests, the SSP family went above and beyond to raise money for children with muscular dystrophy.  The team’s efforts were well rewarded: with an increase of 155% over prior year, SSP sent 242 children to MDA’s summer camp!

At a check presentation ceremony at SSP headquarters, Sam L. Susser presented a check to the MDA, and two very special children—Arie and Thomas Mann, who receive assistance from the Coastal Bend MDA office.  SSP is proud to support the MDA, and thanks the employees and customers who made this campaign an enormous success!
